About this event

Universities are hot beds of innovation but how do you come up with a viable business idea? Where do you find funding to kickstart your idea? We will include case studies of entrepreneurs who have successfully started up companies and various aspects of the startup process. The workshop will include short presentations by the instructor, online discussions, case studies and examples from the instructor’s own experience.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • an understanding of entrepreneurship and the fundamentals of starting a business
  • been introduced to case studies of entrepreneurs
  • Been introduced to intellectual property.

Dr Joanna Young is the Director of Electv, a training company specialising in workshops for researchers
